Information Officer
Request for information can be made to the Information Officer using application RTI01 in order to obtain information in relation to the Ministry of Public Administration and Management under the Right to Information Act No12 of 2016. Submission of this application is not compulsory
- You will receive an acknowledgement from the Information Officer of the relevant public organization within 14 working days of the date of submission
- In case when it is decided to issue the information requested, you will be informed the charges determined by the Commission, if such charge should be paid. You will be provided with the information requested within fourteen days on payment of a prescribed charge, if it is necessary or free of charge
- Reasons must be given if the Information Officer does not agree to give information In such cases where 14 days are not sufficient, Information Officer may ask for additional time upto another 21 days to provide information
- If you’re not satisfied with the decision of the Information Officer, then you may appeal to the Designated Officer within 14 days from the date the decision was made
- If you’re not satisfied with the decision of the Designated Officer, then you may appeal to the Right to Information Commission within 2 months of the decision of the Designated Officer
Informations are not available for followings -
- Personal Information
- Information that is detrimental to state / national security
- Information that is detrimental to international relations
- Information that is detrimental to the government's economic and monetary policy
- Information protected under the Intellectual Property Act
- Medical reports
- Information related to the work of the Attorney General
- Information on the nature of contempt of court / violation of parliamentary privileges
- Information that prevents crime from being exposed
- Information to be kept confidential by the Department of Examinations or the Department of Elections
