Samurdhi Empowered Program
There are 04 banking associations. There are about 4554 family units receiving Samurdhi benefits. Of these, 306 beneficiaries are to be empowered in 2018.
Accordingly, the allocation for the 54 best home gardens from Samurdhi beneficiary families for the Naramamla Divisional Secretariat is Rs. 1,136,625.00. Rs.200000.00 for Livelihood Marketing Development and Rs.150,0000.00 for Arunalu program has been allocated. Furthermore provisions of Rs. 150000.00 have been made for the Marketing Training Program.
Samurdhi Compulsory Savings Program
It is credited to the Beneficiary's bank account and should have one of the following criteria to get the money.
- 70 Years Completion
- If a child is studing in a university
- A particular disease (kidney, cancer, surgery)
Samurdhi Housing Lottery Program
- One win for each Divisional Secretariat will be won monthly.
- Value of Rs. 200,000.00.
- This is given for Housing construction, purchase of a property and business
Samurdhi Social Insurance Program
The money will be released for the following purposes.
- Rs. 7500 each for three children
- For marriage Rs.7500 each (maximum of two marriages)
- Rs. 15000 for one death (no limit of deaths)
- Donation for hospitalization is Rs. 7500 for 30 days per year (Rs.250 per day -maximum donation Rs. 7500)
- Birth of twins Rs. 5000 and three births and more Rs. 10,000 per month for one year
Livelihood Development Program
- Maximum amount not deductible for empowering families at the Grama Niladari level under the Treasury Grant is Rs. 45000 will be provided for equipments, materials, animal control and buildings.
- Providing livelihood Revolving loans through Samurdhi Banks (maximum 500,000 interest 12%)
- Providing livelihood development loans through Samurdhi Banks (maximum of 500,000 - interest 12%)
Samurdhi Social Development Program
i. Developing the flag fund related to the Day of prevention of drugs
The following programs are carried out by the fund.
- Construction of houses for low income people
- Home repairs
- Improvement of toilets
- Providing school equipments
ii. Implementation of counseling programs
iii. Establishment of samurdhi children's clubs, competitions and bringing them to the national level
iv. Conducting ''Green Park'' program related to Forest conservation
